Diet/Nutrition: Omnivore, will eat flakes, pellets, freeze dried and live foods. Give them a varied diet with lots of protein.
Breeding: Easy to breed. They begin breeding fairly small, with the female at about 1½ -2 inches. The female lays the eggs in a secluded pot or cave and guards them viciously with the male also defending the territory. Fry are easy to raise, and grow quickly. Fed initially on baby brine shrimp, and then on crushed flake.
Gender: Males are larger than females, and attain trailers to the anal and dorsal fin. Females also take on a black and white breeding dress.
